Hello, some discount codes you can use on subscription orders and some you cannot, it all depends on the offer and if it is exclusive to one-time purchase or if the discount is stackable on subscription discounts. Look at the discount code info on the email/sms that you got it from for additional information if you are not sure.

Our first time order discounts, new meal launch discounts and holiday discounts are generally valid on both one-time and subscription orders.  If you use the codes on a subscription purchase it will work on one subscription order...

i.e you get your 20% off subscription discount, and the applied additional one-time discount for a combined bigger discount. Then when you get sent your next subscription order you will still receive the 20% subscription discount but not the additional discount you got on the first order.

The shelf life varies slightly by flavor but you will have months of shelf-life when you receive your delicious meals, check the ‘Enjoy-By’ date printed on each pouch.

All of our items are designed to be single-serve portions so you probably don’t need much time to enjoy them!

Before being opened, you can store without refrigeration but please keep at room temperature.

If you do open and not finish in one sitting, then please store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. 

Our natural flavors are a mixture of ingredients that only come from things found in nature, like spices, fruits, and herbs. 


Like all of our ingredients, our natural flavors don’t contain any artificial colors or preservatives. Most Proper Good items contain no added flavorings at all, but on a few of our items we add a natural flavor to make things even tastier while avoiding adding extra carbs or sugar. Even on items that have natural flavors there are less than 1% natural flavors.

You can indeed recycle all Proper Good packaging - yay!  Here are all the details:

You have 3 easy options to heat up Proper Good meals:


Microwave - Remove the card topper, tear off the top of the pouch, stand it upright in the microwave, and microwave on high, time depends on the product, please check your label instructions but depending on your meal it is between 60 and 90 seconds. You’re good to eat direct from the pouch or pour into a bowl/cup of your choice. Be careful as the pouch will be hot to touch.


Stove Top - Empty the tasty contents into a pan and heat on medium until bubbling hot, stirring occasionally.


Boil-in-Bag - Remove the card-topper, do NOT tear open, then submerge the sealed pouch into boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove pouch, tear open then eat directly from the pouch or pour into a bowl/cup of your choice. Be careful as the pouch will be hot to touch.

Our products are not currently certified organic. We’ve chosen to stick with very clean ingredients we can all understand and pronounce while avoiding anything that sounds like a science experiment. 


Our items include high quality and delicious ingredients such as bone broth, coconut milk, chicken breast, meatballs and spices including turmeric, paprika and rosemary. Although we do have a lot of organic ingredients in our products the products themselves are not organic certified as they are not 100% organic.


Making our products 100% organic would increase the cost increase to you, the consumer, but we’re exploring whether people would enjoy this option so please contact us and let us know if organic would be of interest to you.

This varies by item, for example with our plant-based, vegan-friendly ButternutSquash Soup all the fats come from Coconut Milk, made from medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) - if you fancy it, do some googling to see the benefits of coconut fats, but here’s one article to get you started: https://www.livestrong.com/article/409614-the-health-benefits-of-coconut-milk/


In the Keto items, we use a mixture of Coconut Oil and Heavy Cream to get a thick and delicious flavor with the necessary fat content for keto. Please see all the nutritional info here, we’ve made every effort to ensure Proper Good items are delicious, nutritious and filling while being acceptable to most food lifestyles - this includes low-calorie options, high protein options, and low carb options, but please check the nutritional profiles are right for you.

You may sometimes notice slight fluctuations in the color of our soups as we do not use any artificial coloring. Sometimes our soups might be a few shades lighter or darker due to natural variations in our ingredients, for example, at different times of the year veggies grow slightly different colors.  If in doubt please reach out to our lovely customer service team here.

To open your delicious meal firstly remove the colorful cardboard topper.  Then at the top of the pouch, next to the seal, you should see little indents and a dotted line, you can then tear along this line to easily open your pouch!


If you have any issues with tearing the top off the pouch a pair of kitchen scissors will easily cut open the top of the pouch :-)


Hello there, our best before dates are printed on the back of our pouches.  Due to the color of some of the soups these dates can sometimes be a little hard to see, but take a closer look with a bright light and you will see that it is there :-)


On each pouch we have the date made, the best by date and allergen information.  If you have any issues finding the best by date simply reach out to our lovely customer service team here.

The sodium in each of our meals varies, however, they are all in the lower range of sodium when compared to other packaged meals, and we do have a range of certified low-sodium meals that you can find here

Be sure to note that our nutritional panel shows the amount of sodium for the WHOLE pouch, and sodium does not mean just added salt. A lot of the sodium in our meals comes from sodium that naturally occurs in the veggies, meats and other tasty ingredients in our meals.

We are frequently asked - How do you make these delicious soups that do not need refrigeration and do not have any added chemicals?

Well, it may seem like magic but our lovely soups are made by using real wholesome ingredients, a gentle cooking process and bit of material science.  

Our custom pouch may look simple but it is actually made of multiple layers of BPA free high oxygen barrier materials.  The delicious ingredients are then gently cooked in the pouch, which is the same way most baby food is made, and this combination of cooking in the pouch with this clever material means the pouch is sterilized and nothing can get in or out, which is how we get an eight month shelf life without the need for refrigeration, with no added chemicals, preservatives or anything mom would disapprove of.

If you would like to freeze Proper Good meals you can, as they are only made with real wholesome ingredients it is the same as freezing a homemade meal.


However, there is not much reason to freeze Proper Good as they are shelf stable, so they can happily live in your pantry for months.  One of the fantastic benefits of Proper Good is that you can enjoy it anytime you want to, simply grab it, heat it and eat it!  Of course, having to defrost it adds an extra step, which is not needed.


So, freeze if you wish, but personally we think that enjoying them straight from your pantry is the way to go!  Hope this helps and happy eating :-)

Overnight oats are a delicious chilled oatmeal. They are a nutritious breakfast made with no cooking time, just soaking time!  To prepare overnight oats, all you have to do is select a liquid of your choice - such as almond milk, dairy milk, coconut milk, or water.  Mix the pouch of Proper Good’s overnight oats with the liquid in a Mason Jar then pop it in the fridge overnight so the oats absorb all of the liquid.  That’s it!

The Expiration Date on the pouch is a ‘Best By’, this is the recommended date to enjoy the food as it’s peak quality. The date to truly not eat varies by heat, humidity, etc, so we recommend enjoying before the printed date. There should be plenty of months between when you buy and when the expiration is so you shouldn’t have anything to worry about :-) 

As we do not use any added colors or stabilizers there will be natural variation in colors through different seasons of the ingredients.

Yes! All Proper Good pouch meals are fully cooked and ready to eat, meaning you can eat them cold right out of the pouch if you wish. 

Or, heat directly in the pouch and eat it that way too - be careful as the pouch will be hot! You can watch a fun video explaining how to heat your meals on our blog too.

Our pouches are recycling number 7, which is labeled on the pouch, it is also BPA-Free and Microwave Safe.  However, they are not curbside recyclable - please take them to the relevant local recycling option or use our return to recycle program for free, you can find out about our recycling program HERE We’re working on a fully home recyclable option and hope to have that available as soon as possible. Proper Good is Climate Neutral Certified and our boxes carry the Sustainable Forestry logo, find out more about our environmental commitments HERE :-) 

At this time, our meals are not certified kosher.  

Hello, please be aware that it's possible that foods made from wholesome ingredients will contain a pit, pebble, stem or foreign object - this is very very rare, but of course, it can happen.

If you have found a pit, pebble, stem or foreign object in your meal please reach out to our customer care team and we will refund your meal and make things right.

Please take a photo of the pit, pebble, stem or foreign object, and also record the batch number and expiry date of the meal you found it in, this will help us go through our processes and ensure we are doing everything possible to minimise this possibility of it happening again.

Over 95% of orders are shipped within one business day of being placed, your meals will be with you in no time!  We’ll send tracking updates along the way, our average ‘order placed until delivered’ is around 4.5 days, depending on where in the US you’re located. Plus, remember all shipping is free on all orders over $35 so that’s pretty nice too :-) 

Of course, sometimes shipping times can be longer, especially around the holidays or if there has been a big storm.  We do get inundated with shipping inquires during unexpected weather events as it takes time for the carriers to catch up, so please be kind of our customer care team when you reach out for shipping assistance - thank you!

Proper Good meals are shipped with USPS or UPS - you’ll receive updates on the status of your shipment as your delicious meals make their way to your doorstep or mailbox!  

All orders leave Proper Good within 1 business day, if you ordered on a Friday, please expect to see no movement over the weekend.

Once you have received your 'packed & ready to go' email your order has been packed and picked up by the shipping carrier.  You will usually see an update to the tracking within 4 days of the shipping carrier picking up your order. It is likely already moving through their network and on its way to you but for some reason the tracking takes time to update.

Sometimes people receive their orders before their tracking has even started - it is an odd issue that we have tried to solve with the carriers but with thousands of orders being shipped we still see this issue cropping up a lot.

If it has been 4 days and you still do not have any tracking please reach out to our customer care team so they can look into it for you, please email them your name and order number to hello@eatpropergood.com - thank you!

Hello, if your tracking shows 'label created' this means that your order has been packed and picked up by the shipping carrier, your package is now inline at the carrier and waiting to be scanned.

At certain times of year, like during the holidays or after a storm, there are a lot of packages and it can take a few days for the label to update from 'label created' to 'shipped' even though it is already at the carrier, it has just not yet been scanned by the carrier. 

We do occasionally have scanning issues and the tracking does not update for longer, and even sometimes orders arrived before the tracking has even updated, it is a weird glitch that we are yet to resolve with the carrier.  

As a rule of thumb, if it has been more than 4 days and you still have 'label created' showing then reach out to our customer care team at hello@eatpropergood.com and they can look into it for you :-) 

Hello, in your order confirmation emails you will see your order number, you can add your order number and email to our tracking page to get up to date info on your shipping.

Please allow 4 days for the order to go from 'label created to shipped' as although your order will be with the carrier within 1 business day, we do find that in general the tracking seems to take a while to update on the carrier system.
