Grilled Cheese Croissants - Eat Proper Good

We LOVE dipping a grilled cheese in our soups—especially in
Tomato Basil Soup
. But for Halloween season, we’re all about scary
Three Cheese Croissant Monsters
! They have everything we love about a grilled cheese sandwich with a bit of added scary fun!

Ingredients:
  • Plain Croissants – Pre-made (we like Hero Croissants)
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Shredded Gruyere Cheese
  • Mini Mozzarella Balls
  • Ketchup

Method:
  1. Prepare the Croissants:

Cut your croissants in half lengthwise, but don’t cut all the way through.
  2. Add the Cheese:

Layer in the shredded mozzarella, cheddar, and Gruyere. How much cheese you use depends on how cheesy you want your monsters to be!
  3. Heat the Croissants:

We used Hero Croissants, which require a pre-heated oven at 375°F for 3 minutes. Make sure to follow the heating instructions on the croissants you have.
  4. Melt the Cheese:

If the cheese doesn’t melt entirely in the oven, pop the croissants in the microwave for 30 seconds to finish melting.
  5. Make the Monster Eyes:

Cut the mozzarella balls in half. Dip the pointed end of a spoon in ketchup and press it into the center of the rounded side of the mozzarella ball to create a pupil. Use toothpicks to attach the eyes to the croissants—two toothpicks per eye might be needed for stability.
  6. Serve the Monsters:

Your monsters are now ready! Open them up to reveal their cheesy mouths and release some of the hot steam. Be careful—they’ll be hot!
